How I Stay Motivated - my secret

This is going to be a quick post, but it's important!

Being so into health & fitness, I have heard over and over again "I don't know how you stay motivated" or "I wish I had your energy" - I'll be honest - sometimes I am anything BUT motivated. Some days I don't have energy...

.. here's what the secret is: I just do it. Sound simple? To me, working out makes me level-headed and calmer. I need that and my family needs that of me. So I simply just do it. No matter how lazy I'm feeling, or how I want to sleep in or read instead, I just put on my sneakers and do it.

We all have those things in our lives that we do without thinking - it's just become such a habit because you've MADE it a habit and a priority - my health and general happiness is now a priority for me. It wasn't always - but in order to be the wife and mommy I need to be, it means MAKING time for myself every day to do this. I have never regretted it!

Also - and this is something I recommend for EVERYONE - don't be afraid to look back at who you used to be and think to yourself: Am I satisfied with who I am now? My confidence level? My energy? My health? If the answer is no to any of these, use THAT as your motivation! I am happier and healthier than I used to be, but I am always a work in progress. I am constantly going through old photos of myself as a reminder - I am never going back there!

So ultimately, how do I stay motivated? By refusing to overthink my daily routine (am I too tired today? Too busy?), by throwing on my sneakers and just doing it, by thinking of my family and how they deserve this from me, and by remembering where I came from and the importance of moving forward.
